Toth Bienk & Associates is pleased to announce that we are now a World Community Grid™ partner company. Along with 360 (as of 22/10/2007) other companies and organisations across the world, we have enabled our computers to be used for scientific research via grid computing technology.

This means that whenever any of our PCs, Macs or servers are running idle or with low processor usage, they connect to the WCG and begin processing complex scientific data along with hundreds of thousands of computers across the world, effectively making one of the most power supercomputers in the world.

The current WCG projects are:

  • AfricanClimate@Home
  • Discovering Dengue Drugs – Together
  • Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2
  • FightAIDS@Home

  • Click here for more information on the projects.

Joining the World Community Grid as an individual member, downloading the client program and getting started takes less than five minutes. The program then runs in the background without any need for user intervention, using almost no bandwidth, having no impact on computer performance when in use and without risk to your computer’s or network’s security. You can even choose specifically which projects you want to help with if some are of more interest to you than others.

You can keep track of our processing stats here.

To learn more about WCG or to take part either as an individual with your home PC or as a corporate partner, please visit http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org. From there you can also choose to join our team, helping us raise our stats and we will list you on our website as a team member. Alternatively you can create your own team and see if your computers are a match for our own!

If you can’t find the answers you seek on the WCG website, feel free to give me a call.
